Engineering Assurance
Across the Building Lifecycle

ERL—Engineering Rule Logic—is being developed to help people who design, build, commission, own, operate, and maintain buildings ask questions in everyday language, perform engineering calculations, and evaluate requirements using traceable project and asset information.

From Project Information to Defensible Decisions

Engineering questions often require information scattered across drawings, specifications, equipment records, and field reports. ERL is being developed to bring that evidence together—helping authorized users perform calculations, evaluate requirements, and understand the basis for each result.

When information is missing or insufficient, ERL is designed to make that limitation clear rather than present an unsupported conclusion.
